Operating Room Registered Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at Memorial Satilla Health. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional surgical nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
- Assist in emergency procedures, as well as elective and scheduled cases, working closely with surgical teams to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families, providing education and support throughout the surgical process.
- Organize supplies needed for patients, maintaining a sterile operating room environment and performing count procedures to protect patients from unintended retained foreign objects.
- Assess patients before, during, and after surgery, maintaining their genitourinary, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological systems, and fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balances at or above baseline levels.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, actively involving patients or designated support persons in decisions affecting their post-perioperative plan of care and rehabilitation process.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
- Minimum of 1-year previous experience of Perioperative Nursing is strongly preferred.
