At Coast Counties Peterbilt, we are seeking a highly skilled Truck Service Technician - Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for diagnosing and completing repairs on customer vehicles in a professional, timely manner while ensuring quality repairs at a fair cost to the customer.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You will be expected to:

  • Diagnose vehicle issues and plan repair strategies based on job priorities
  • Complete repairs efficiently within the allocated time frame
  • Perform high-quality repairs minimizing shop comebacks and unnecessary shop expense
  • Submit accurate and complete write-ups for each repair performed

In addition to your technical skills, you will also be expected to maintain a clean shop environment, ensure proper tool maintenance, and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Daily planning with the service team to establish repair strategies based on job priorities
  • Determining work required from the repair order
  • Diagnosing vehicle issues to determine the problem and plan repair strategy
  • Completing repairs efficiently within the allocated time frame
  • Submitting accurate and complete write-ups for each repair performed
  • Maintaining a clean shop environment and ensuring proper tool maintenance
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of diesel mechanics
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or degree preferred
Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $32-$55 per hour, depending on experience. In addition to your hourly wage, you will also receive benefits such as [insert benefits here].
