The Legal Aid Society is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Investigator to join our team in Brooklyn. As a key member of our Criminal Defense Practice, you will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys in the investigation and preparation of cases.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough investigations of crime scenes and gather evidence
  • Interview witnesses, complainants, and defendants to gather information
  • Document and analyze evidence, including photographs, videos, and physical evidence
  • Prepare detailed reports of investigations and present findings to attorneys
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies
  • Travel to crime scenes and other locations as needed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field
  • Experience in investigative work, preferably in a legal setting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
