Job Title: Imaging Assistant

Froedtert South is a comprehensive regional healthcare system that has served southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois communities for over 100 years.

Job Summary:

Under the general guidance of the Radiologic Technologist, this position requires assisting the technical staff with direct and indirect patient care responsibilities involved in the performance of imaging studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists the Technical staff by escorting patients to and from exam rooms, patient positioning, exam room setup/cleanup, and patient monitoring.
  • Assists with obtaining patient history, verifies order/special scheduling requests.
  • Courteous and effective phone communications with provider offices/ancillary departments.
  • Relays messages/instructions.
  • Transports patients between imaging, nursing and ancillary departments.
  • Accurately documents information in the electronic health/medical record system.
  • Reviews patient's history and documents appropriately on history/screening forms.
  • Receives and records verbal orders from licensed independent practitioners for orders that are specific to the services provided by their department.
  • Communicating exam information with patients/provider offices over the phone.
  • Multifaceted communication under a variety of emotional situations, for all patients throughout the life span.
Requirements:
  • High School or Equivalent (GED)
  • Entry Level
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) /CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) preferred but not required.
  • Enrolled in a School of Medical Imaging/Radiologic Technology and in good academic standing.
Work Environment:

Froedtert South provides services primarily through the Froedtert Kenosha Hospital and the Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital and several other clinic locations.
