Job DescriptionPhysical Therapist Assistant

This role involves working as part of a dynamic team to provide essential care by administering treatment plans developed by Physical Therapists. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:

  • Administer non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction heat, light, cold, water, and electrical modalities to patients.
  • Accurately document daily, weekly, or monthly records of clients and submit clinical paperwork to the office on time each week.
  • Attend educational meetings, coordinate departmental in-services, and notify physical therapists or Executive Directors of equipment failures, lack of supplies, staff or client changes.
  • Schedule clients, perform varied office tasks, apply concepts of infection control and universal precautions in performing patient care activities.
  • Accept clinical assignments consistent with education and competence to care for patients.
Required Skills and QualificationsExperience and Education

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • An Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association-accredited institution.
  • A current state license to practice Physical Therapy.
  • A valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Proof of current CPR certification.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
Clinical Competency and Communication

You should possess:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the physical, emotional, social, and biological changes that occur in the geriatric population.
  • Self-directed, enthusiastic, and accepting of constructive feedback.
  • Good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
  • The ability to communicate and demonstrate a professional image/attitude for patients, families, clients, coworkers, and others.
