Job Overview

Tri-State Equipment, a renowned custom designed crane manufacturer since 1959, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. With a strong reputation for serving general contractors, municipalities, and various manufacturing companies, we specialize in designing, manufacturing, installing, and maintaining overhead cranes, runway systems, fall protection systems, and lifting beams.

This role offers a unique blend of creativity and collaboration. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design one-of-a-kind solutions, work closely with our machinist and fabricators, and bring your designs to life. Each project presents a new challenge, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience.

The Job
We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with 3-5 years of industry experience to join our team. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing customer specifications, product concepts, and related documentation to determine the best overall solution and design.
  • Creating 3D designs of overhead cranes.
  • Developing fabrication drawings for our shop to build.
  • Collaborating with machinist and fabricators to ensure accurate design implementation.
  • Generating a Bill of Materials for each project.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and solid (3-5 years) design experience in industry. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is essential, along with material handling industry knowledge. Your creative problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and strong communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with our team.
