Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate RN PICC PRN to join our healthcare team at HCA Florida Capital Hospital. As a PICC RN, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective placement of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs) and Midlines.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient medical history, including laboratory values, venous and muscle skeletal status, to determine eligibility for PICC placement.
  • Insert PICC lines and med line IV catheters, confirming placement via x-ray and documenting the procedure.
  • Plan, evaluate, and implement interventions for solving IV-related patient care problems.
  • Exhibit high-level skills in critical thinking and assessment related to vascular access devices.
  • Provide patient education on PICC insertion and care, as well as instructions for facility nurses and staff.
Requirements:
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required.
  • BLS-American Heart Association BLS Provider issued card required.
  • ACLS required; PALS preferred.
  • PICC Certification course required within first 90 days of start date.
  • 1-2 years of Acute Care experience required; 1-2 years of Critical Care experience preferred.
