Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technologist to join our Read/Write Channel Integration team at Western Digital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for integrating new channel features and functions into our advanced signal processing chip, used for recording and readback of digital information that resides on a Hard Disk Drive (HDD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and integration of advanced read/write channel features to achieve HDD capacity gains
  • Ability to understand and optimize state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms within the HDD recording system
  • Perform failure analysis (FA) of read/write issues, throughout a HDD product lifecycle
  • Ability to communicate concepts and results with technical leads, management, and external engineering community effectively
  • Work with team members, vendor technical support, and our internal Western Digital product development teams in a proactive and productive manner

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of signal processing algorithms and their application in HDD recording systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical concepts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues
  • Experience working with vendor technical support and internal product development teams
