Pharmacy Technician Assistant

As a Pharmacy Technician I at McLaren USA, you will provide critical support to our pharmacists in delivering exceptional patient care. Your role will involve preparing and packaging medications, maintaining accurate records, and performing various administrative tasks under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and maintain a well-organized work area, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Assist pharmacists in filling containers, preparing labels, and prepackaging pharmaceuticals, while maintaining accurate records and stocking supplies.
  • Perform pharmacy computer functions as required, including data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Prepare and label IVs, hyperalimentation solutions, chemotherapy agents, and other pharmaceutical products, adhering to established procedures and protocols.
  • Respond to patient admission, transfer, and discharge notices, processing physician orders and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist in performing recordkeeping, billing, and accounting functions, including verifying remittances, corresponding with third-party payors, and entering charges and payments.
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, inspecting, and adjusting stock, ensuring a smooth supply chain.
  • Maintain floor stock, crash carts, and nursing station inspection reports, adhering to department standards.
  • Assist in training pharmacy personnel, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities, contributing to the continuous enhancement of our services.
  • Provide age-specific care to our patients, adhering to department standards and protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as required and directed by management.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state Temporary, Limited, or Full Pharmacy Technician License; a valid state Full Pharmacy Technician License must be obtained within 365 days of issuance.
  • Computer experience and previous pharmacy experience or courses in pharmacy curriculum are preferred.
