Job Opportunity: Special Education Teacher

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Central Lake, MI. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that cater to students' diverse needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitor and assess students' academic and social progress, providing regular feedback and adjustments to instruction.
  • Provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional growth.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and encourage participation, including technology integration and adaptive materials.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress and development, including IEPs and progress reports.
  • Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions to stay current with best practices and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of IDEA and other relevant special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
