Radiology Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Imaging Specialist to join our team at Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital Association dba Thomas Hospitals. As a key member of our Radiology Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform imaging procedures using various modalities, including fluoroscopy, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging.
  • Operate imaging equipment, including X-ray machines, ultrasound devices, and MRI scanners.
  • Position patients accurately and safely for imaging procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of imaging protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited radiography program.
  • Registration or registry eligibility by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • West Virginia state criminal background check required, and Federal, if applicable, for DHHR BMS regulated area.

Working Environment:

  • Exposure to minimal radiation within national standards of occupational guidelines.
  • Exposure to airborne particles and bodily fluids.
  • Operation of imaging equipment with automated moving parts.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to interact positively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously.
  • Ability to improvise with altered positioning techniques, manipulation of equipment, and accessory devices when routine positioning is compromised due to patient condition, age, or ability.
