Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

This role requires a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to implement effective speech/language pathology services to patients with communication disorders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients' communication skills, oral-motor function, cognitive status, memory, and problem-solving abilities, as well as hearing and speech fluency.
  • Assess home environments to identify equipment needs related to speech/language function.
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop plans of care addressing speech, language, hearing, and other functional disorders.
  • Administer speech therapy programs using specialized techniques and equipment.
  • Provide education to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals on their roles in speech therapy.
  • Recommend communication devices and aids as necessary.
  • Refer patients to audiologists for hearing tests when required.
  • Prepare and submit clinical progress summary notes based on goal attainment.
  • Instruct patients, families/caregivers, and healthcare staff on treatment regimes as needed.
  • Perform additional duties to facilitate delivery of speech-language pathology services.
  • Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and refer accordingly.
  • Maintain professional standards and clinical competency in speech-language pathology practice and theory.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned or necessary.

Key Requirements:

  • Meet education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology.
  • Hold a degree from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Be currently licensed or certified as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of employment.
  • Prior professional experience in speech-language pathology is preferred.
  • Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participate in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Hold current CPR certification (if applicable).
  • Have completed TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable).
  • Have a current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Meet federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Complete new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Have effective communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Be computer proficient.
  • Be at least 18 years old.

Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
