Job Summary:

Sigma Healthcare is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for preparing and performing ultrasound examinations on patients, collaborating with physicians on examinations, and maintaining ultrasound and vascular lab equipment in appropriate operating condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians.
• Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
• Maintain examination rooms and work areas, and order and stock all ultrasound and vascular lab supplies.

Requirements:

• Prior recent experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer or Echo Ultrasound Technologist in an acute healthcare facility is preferred.
• Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems and make decisions.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team.

Education and Certification:

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-approved school of Ultrasound Technology or other approved program as determined by the department; or registered Radiologic Technologist with two years supervised work/training in diagnostic ultrasound.
• Registered or registry candidate by ARDMS in Abdomen and OB/GYN sonography.
• Registered by ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) preferred.
• Current BLS/HCP certification.
• Active MA state license.
