Job Summary

Petco is seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and providing a positive experience for our clients.

Essential Job Functions

* Greet clients and patients, obtain vital signs, and record patient information in the electronic medical record
* Assist veterinarians with appointments, surgery, and other medical procedures
* Perform patient restraint, handle laboratory samples, and maintain the electronic medical record
* Schedule appointments, communicate with clients, and manage accounts receivable
* Prepare patients for surgical and dental procedures, monitor patients during recovery, and provide in-hospital treatments

Requirements

* College or college-equivalent education as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician
* At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a veterinary practice
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Compassionate and sympathetic with a professional attitude and demeanor

Estimated Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience

About the Location

This role is located in a Petco Total Care full-service hospital, with the majority of job duties conducted in this setting. The position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing for long periods of time.
