Bridge Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Town of Barnstable. As a key member of our public works department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our drawbridges.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain drawbridges in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and procedures.
- Monitor and record environmental and bridge operating data as required.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on bridge machinery.
- Assist with traffic control as needed.
- Participate in routine custodial duties.
- During the non-bridge operating season, assist with public works construction and maintenance activities.
- High school diploma with one year of experience in public works-related activities or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CDL Class B driver's license or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
- Ability to swim.
- Massachusetts Class 4G Hoisting License and Massachusetts 2B and IC Hydraulic licenses.
- Working knowledge of heavy-duty mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of traffic flagging rules and regulations, U.S. Coast Guard regulations, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor in varying weather conditions.
$1, $2,128.92 biweekly + benefits (dependent on licensure)
