We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Web Application Developer to join our team at Science Systems & Applications. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying web applications and websites using PHP and Drupal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop web applications and websites using PHP, Drupal, and other relevant technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure code.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in deploying commercial or government websites and secure web applications/content management systems.
  • Experience building a Drupal Content Management System.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong experience in fundamental web technologies (LAMP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Experience using version control systems (Git).
  • Ability to write maintainable and scalable code.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment as an effective team member.
  • Experience communicating virtually using Microsoft Outlook, Teams, or similar products.
  • US Citizenship required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience developing in an Agile environment.
  • System/server administration and configuration experience.
  • Drupal maintenance and development experience.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
