Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Life Enrichment in planning and executing community activities, including events, outings, and programs.
  • Encourage residents to participate in community activities, while supporting their independence and autonomy.
  • Assist with the planning of the monthly activities calendar and newsletter, ensuring a diverse range of events and activities that cater to different interests and abilities.
  • Help with ordering supplies and equipment for regular activities, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and accessible.
  • May be required to attend outings off-site and assist with the transportation of residents, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Director of Life Enrichment, including supporting the success of the community's Parallel Programming schedule.
  • When interacting with residents and/or family members, be mindful of their rights to privacy and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Background in art, music, drama, or occupational therapy preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, and outside contacts.
  • One-year experience in a social or recreational program in a licensed health care setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer's Dementia preferred.
