POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse in the Neurovascular ICU is responsible for independently planning, executing, and assessing nursing care in various patient care scenarios, adhering to established standards and protocols. This role involves delivering direct patient care, providing education, and assuming leadership responsibilities within the unit.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate care plans that include strategies to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Implement care interventions and coordinate treatment plans as necessary.
- Engage in patient education to promote health and safety.
- Evaluate patient progress towards established goals.
- Uphold ethical practices in nursing.
- Maintain knowledge and skills that reflect current nursing practices.
- Incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice.
- Contribute to quality nursing practices and participate in shared governance.
- Communicate effectively across all areas of practice.
- Demonstrate leadership within the professional setting.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team in nursing practice.
- Utilize resources to ensure safe and effective nursing services.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
For Candidates with Critical Care Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year in critical care nursing.
- Experience with neurocritical care patients is preferred.
- Current RN or APRN license in Florida.
- BSN is strongly preferred.
- Certification in specialty areas is highly desirable.
- BLS and ALS certifications required.
- Completion of ENLS certification within one year of hire.
For New Graduates and Candidates without Critical Care Experience:
- New graduate nurses are welcome to apply.
- BSN is preferred.
- Current RN or APRN license in Florida.
- BLS certification required; ALS certification will be obtained during the program.
- Fellowship agreement includes a commitment to a two-year employment in critical care post-training.
- Completion of ENLS certification within one year of hire.
