Job Description

As a Theatrical Wardrobe Assistant, you will be responsible for sorting, handling, distributing, hanging, unpacking, and re-packing wardrobe for theatrical events. Your primary duties will include:

  • making, re-modeling, repairing, altering, fitting, maintaining, cleaning, dyeing, pressing, and other wardrobe-related tasks;
  • sorting, handling, distributing, hanging, unpacking, and re-packing wardrobe items, as well as transporting them within the confines of the Arena;
  • wardrobe and costume-wardrobe accessories and costume-wardrobe props, and assisting in the dressing of and making changes for performances;
  • reporting to the Union Steward upon arrival to work for an event;
  • performing other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Hold a High School diploma or GED (or any equivalent combination of education and experience);
  • Have prior customer service experience (preferably in the entertainment industry);
  • Have access to reliable transportation;
  • Have knowledge and experience in proper handling of theatrical tools, equipment, and systems;
  • Be able to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, dependent on the events schedule;
  • Have the physical ability to lift and carry heavy loads, walk, stand, sit, crouch, bend, stretch, and reach;
  • Be able to stand and walk for four to six hours at a time;
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing;
  • Be comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
