Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Sales Specialist to join our team in Mechanicsville, VA. As a Medical Sales Specialist, you will play a critical role in driving product growth of Cologuard in medical practices to meet sales goals within the assigned geography. You will establish the importance of Colorectal Cancer (CRC) diseases and screening, enhancing customer relationships to drive growth and revenue while improving patient outcomes through integration of Exact Sciences' solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis and Customer Engagement
    • Analyze local healthcare ecosystems and market landscapes to identify opportunities to enhance the system of care and deliver improved patient outcomes through integration of Exact Sciences' solutions.
    • Bond with customers to gain insight into their unmet needs, diligently capturing information on customer interactions using the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
    • Synthesize data from various sources to understand evolving local care systems, making data-driven decisions on account potential and opportunities to focus efforts.
  • Business Development and Strategy Execution
    • Develop business and account plans to increase visibility and awareness of Exact Sciences' products, maximizing opportunities and sales growth.
    • Implement these plans to devise customer-specific pre- and post-call engagement approaches, evaluating and addressing customer needs in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
    • Educate target physician and stakeholder groups about Exact Sciences' products and value propositions, equipping them to make informed decisions about treatment choices and patient resources.
  • Account Management and Team Collaboration
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute strategies, enhancing customer satisfaction and improving patient outcomes and business opportunities for Exact Sciences.
    • Communicate clear and compelling descriptions of customer needs and opportunities to mobilize resources and shape solutions to address current and future customer needs.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field, or 4 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
    • 2+ years of previous sales, inside sales, or account management experience, or 1+ year of previous sales experience plus 1+ year of experience in a healthcare setting or other field related to the essential duties of the role.
  • Certifications and Skills
    • Possession of a valid driver's license; no suspended, revoked, surrendered, invalid, etc. allowed.
    • No more than two moving violations, events, or accidents within the last 36 months.
    • No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven by the candidate or employee within the last 36 months.
    • Ability to meet any requirements set by healthcare facilities for access to those facilities.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
    • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Benefits and Compensation

This role offers a competitive salary range of $79,000.00 - $118,000.00 per year, depending on location and experience.
