Job Summary

The City of Victoria, TX is seeking a highly skilled Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, providing medical care and fire suppression services to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy motor equipment and maintain a high level of proficiency in fire suppression and emergency medical services.
  • Work cooperatively with other City employees and the public to provide excellent customer service.
  • Participate in fire prevention, training, and station maintenance activities to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Respond to emergency calls, providing medical care and fire suppression services as needed.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 24 hours of college preferred.
  • Basic Structural Fire Protection Personnel Certification required; DSHS EMT-Paramedic certification required and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
  • Valid Class B Texas driver's license with a driving record that meets City guidelines.
  • Must successfully complete the department Paramedic STEP Program and the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) within six months.
