We are seeking a skilled CDL Class A Shuttle Driver to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting empty trailers to our warehouse locations and delivering full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all required safety checks, including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
- Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule.
- Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
- Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas.
- Ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured.
- Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer.
- Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
- CDL Class A license.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
