Key Responsibilities

As a Construction Project Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with the Senior Project Engineer and/or Project Manager to coordinate and disseminate all project information.
- Ensure that all contract document logs are updated in real-time with the project team.
- Prepare and present status reports on RFIs, Submittals, and other documents.
- Draft effective scopes of work for bid packages.
- Issue Requests for Quotations and follow up with Trade Contractors effectively.
- Update project schedules utilizing CPM techniques successfully.
- Document field quality activities in a timely manner.
- Prepare change management reports, estimates, and other cost-related documents.
- Establish and maintain project quality files and documentation systems.
- Actively promote organizational change initiatives, suggest innovative ideas, and adapt to new structures and processes.

Continuously seek to understand customer goals and needs, acting with urgency to meet those needs and demonstrate value.

- Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks that could generate opportunities for Gilbane.
Qualifications
Experience/Education
- BS or MS degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 2+ years of experience with a large trade contractor, construction management, or general contractor organization.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience with US Government/military projects is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proven track record of achieving organizational and personal goals while delivering results to a high standard of excellence.
- Demonstrated understanding of success metrics and risks associated with your program, business unit, or portfolio of projects.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- OSHA 10-hour certification required; OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
- Basic knowledge of MEP systems.
- Understanding of Contract Documents & Specifications.
- Familiarity with CMiC is preferred.
