Job Title: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Link Associates is seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our leisure services department, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing therapeutic recreation activities that promote independence, socialization, and community integration for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate in-house leisure day program activities, including attendance records, transportation, and billing documentation.
  • Develop and implement community-based leisure activities, ensuring positive outcomes and goal achievement for individuals supported.
  • Coordinate and provide transportation services, ensuring safe and efficient transportation for individuals.
  • Assist in training day program direct support professionals to facilitate established leisure programs.
  • Assist with the orientation, training, and scheduling of employees, volunteers, and interns.
  • Evaluate leisure services programs, compiling and recording evaluations to inform program development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field, with a minimum of two years of related work experience.
  • NCTRC certification or completion within six months.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing standard office, home, and recreational equipment.
  • Proven ability to implement agency rules and procedures, utilizing verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Position requires medium physical work, including occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
