Veterinary Assistant

Marlboro Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians in all aspects of their duties.

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in preparing animals for exams and surgery
• Perform medical treatments and administer medications under the direction of a veterinarian or veterinary technician
• Obtain and properly handle/prepare in-house and laboratory specimens
• Work in cooperation with staff to attend to any immediate needs
• Handle animals and their owners in a responsive, courteous, and tactful manner
• Maintain a healthy, safe, sanitary, pleasant, and clean facility for animals

• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of a coworker
• Fluent in written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position
• Ability to exchange accurate information with all clients and team members
