Role Description

The Staff Registered Nurse I is an essential member of the Kaiser Permanente team, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient health status assessments.
  • Review post-encounter data to identify care gaps and address them promptly.
  • Accurately record patient data, actions, interventions, and treatment responses according to established guidelines.
  • Support complex procedures and closely monitor patient responses during and after the procedure.
  • Promote active patient engagement, family education, and caregiver coordination to ensure holistic care.
  • Rapidly respond to medical emergencies as needed.
  • Effectively manage electronic communication and email correspondence related to patient or provider requests.
  • Administer IV therapy, medications, and other nursing procedures as prescribed by physicians or associate practitioners.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patient and family health education needs, provide tailored guidance, and assess the effectiveness of educational efforts.
  • Initiate and maintain regular communication with patients via outgoing telephone calls for follow-up care and preventative outreach.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and contribute to departmental training programs.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of RN clinical experience or completion of the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Nurse Residency program.
  • Associates degree in nursing.
  • Active Registered Professional Nurse License (Georgia) at the time of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification at the time of hire.
