Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $35.35 - $44.32 per hour, inclusive of stipends. This competitive compensation package ensures that our team members receive fair remuneration for their expertise and dedication.

Job Description

As a Hospital Nurse II at Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC), you will oversee and provide psychiatric nursing care to patients who are emotionally, mentally, and/or physically ill. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning and overseeing work on the unit, including psychiatric nursing care in accordance with nursing practices.
  • Administering medications and treatment to ensure patients receive proper medication and treatment in a timely manner.
  • Writing patient progress reports to maintain patient medical records and document unusual behavior.
  • Assessing emergency situations and taking appropriate action to overcome and resolve patient issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field, or graduation from an accredited school of nursing plus one year of professional nursing experience.
  • A license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
