Sergeant (Jail) Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sergeant to join our team at the Fayette County Jail. As a Sergeant, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the jail, ensuring the safety and security of inmates and staff, and maintaining a positive and respectful work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage a team of correctional officers and other support staff
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the jail
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
• Investigate incidents and allegations of misconduct
• Provide training and guidance to staff on policies, procedures, and best practices

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in law enforcement or corrections
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Salary: $25.18 per hour
