About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our team at Amergis. As a SLPA, you will play a vital role in providing speech and language services to our clients, working closely with our Speech Language Pathologists to deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Speech Language Pathologists in providing speech and language services, including screenings, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Provide support with bilingual translation and interpretation, as needed.
  • Document student performance and report to supervising Speech Language Pathologists.
  • Program and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices.
  • Assist with clerical duties, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities.
  • Maintain equipment and report any issues to the supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Participate in formal care conferences, parent conferences, and intra-disciplinary team meetings, as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a SLPA program with an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program.
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent.
  • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice.
  • One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred.
