Position Summary:
WCPA is seeking a dedicated Coach for our girls' soccer program. The Coach will oversee all facets of the athletic program, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as the policies set forth by the Governing Board and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the time commitment required for off-season, summer, and in-season practices and competitions.
- Develop tryout and practice schedules for all levels within the program.
- Ensure the upkeep, inventory, and protection of all equipment and facilities associated with the program.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Athletic Director regarding program developments, including any complaints or grievances.
- Submit requests for purchasing equipment, supplies, and uniforms as necessary.
- Report unsafe conditions to the Athletic Director and Facilities Manager, ensuring timely resolution of safety hazards.
- Foster positive relationships with local athletic organizations, K-8 sports programs, and community members to ensure the program's long-term success.
- Coordinate pre-season meetings with parents to discuss eligibility requirements, conduct codes, team rules, injury prevention, and inherent risks of the sport.
- Monitor the academic eligibility and conduct of all athletes.
- Adhere to practice and competition schedules, including holidays and weekends.
- Ensure the safety and security of the team during all program events.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior coaching experience with a record of positive conduct and no disciplinary actions.
- Ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position and achieve its objectives.
- Knowledge of the sport's rules and regulations, district policies, and CIF standards.
- Proven ability to maintain positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community organizations.
- Capability to organize, train, direct, and motivate students and staff for high levels of athletic performance.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving as a positive role model for student-athletes.
- Completion of required NFHS courses, including Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion in Sports, Heat Illness Prevention, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest, as per CIF guidelines.
Compensation:
Stipend Range: $800 - $5,000, with final compensation based on skills and experience.
