Pork Procurement Specialist

At JBS USA, we are seeking a skilled Pork Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our hog yard operations, you will be responsible for receiving and evaluating hogs, sorting off-quality hogs for resale, and ensuring proper animal handling to comply with company policy and USDA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and evaluate hogs as they arrive
  • Sort off-quality hogs for resale
  • Count hogs and ensure proper animal handling
  • Physically manipulate hogs using rattle paddle, tattoo chute, and scale for weighing
  • Train on driving equipment (bobcat, skid steer)
  • Complete and deliver necessary paperwork
  • Perform various other duties as needed or assigned
Requirements:
  • Work 40+ hours per week in hog yards/barns
  • Ability to visually assess weight and potential yield of hogs
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to physically maneuver among and manipulate live hogs
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • College classes in animal science preferred
  • Previous experience in dealing with hogs (breeds, market, handling, etc.)
