Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Ventura County Medical Center. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and organize the anesthesia environment, equipment, and supplies to facilitate department functions.
  • Provide peri-operative technical support to the anesthesia professional staff for delivery of safe patient care.
  • Effectively communicate with surgical team in efforts to work cooperatively.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and addressing malfunctions of specialized anesthesia equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Assist with the preparation of surgery cases, setup and preparation of the operating room environment for various procedures.
  • Contribute to timely OR turnover by ensuring anesthesia equipment is ready for next case.
  • Manage anesthesia equipment, including identification and removal of any malfunctioning equipment.
  • Disinfect equipment according to policy.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, G.E.D. equivalency or California High School Proficiency Certificate.
  • Completion of an Anesthesia Technician training program or one (1) year of full-time equivalent experience performing anesthesia services.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certificate prior to the first day of employment and maintain it thereafter.
  • Ability to frequently stand, bend, reach, squat, and kneel, and the ability to move, position, and lift patients and/or equipment to perform nursing assistant duties/procedures.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and exposure to hazardous materials and equipment.
