Job Description:

The Associate Software Engineer on the Embedded Platform team will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software for embedded Linux systems. They will work independently at times, but also know when to seek guidance from more senior engineers on the team.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of technical concepts and tools related to embedded systems, including programming languages such as Node.JS, Perl 5, or Python 3, modern C++ features, and networking technologies like Ethernet, IP, TCP, DHCP, UDP, NAT, HTTP, VPN, ARP, SPI, I2c, RS232, RS485, or USB.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of dynamic languages like Node.JS, Perl 5, or Python 3
  • Effective programming skills in modern C++ using features such as type systems, generics, functional programming, and memory management
  • Familiarity with distributed version control systems like Git or Mercurial
  • Working knowledge of the Linux command line, including commonly-used programs
