Position Overview:

Star Academy is on the lookout for a dedicated Literature Educator to join our team for the upcoming academic year.

Employment Types: Full-time, Part-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct middle school students in English language and literature.
  • Foster student development by crafting and implementing challenging and engaging lesson plans aligned with a comprehensive curriculum.
  • Deliver clear and concise instruction to enhance student understanding.
  • Monitor and document student progress, ensuring records are maintained for evaluations and parent meetings.
  • Engage with parents to discuss their child's academic performance.
  • Offer additional assistance outside of classroom hours for students needing extra support.
  • Establish strong connections with students, boosting their self-esteem and motivation while encouraging them to reach their full potential.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • Proficiency in teaching English language and literature.
  • Experience in a classroom setting.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the subject matter.
  • Effective communication skills with students, colleagues, and staff.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.

Preferred:

  • Over 3 years of teaching experience.
  • Advanced degree (Master's, Ph.D., or Ed.D.).
  • Experience with Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
