Job Summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to lead the Cross-Mission Effectiveness Department in the Integrated Performance Subdivision. As a key member of the Enterprise Effects Division, this role will drive integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in aerospace engineering, operations research, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading studies and analysis teams. They will be responsible for coordinating complex technical tasks among team members, translating customer needs into viable instructions for analysts, and ensuring quality and accuracy of work products.

The ideal candidate will have experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis, as well as a strong understanding of space mission interdependencies. They will be able to flex communication styles for productive interactions with staff, collaborators, and customers, and will have a current and active TS/SCI clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the director to cultivate a vision for the organization, including identifying opportunities for growth and developing new areas of technical expertise
  • Build and maintain a strong base of customers and collaborators for the department through effective working relationships
  • Create an organizational culture that promotes innovation, diversity, and inclusion
  • Coordinate complex technical tasks among team members and ensure quality and accuracy of work products
  • Develop staff through formal and informal performance management, evaluation, mentoring, and coaching
  • Recruit and on-board full-time staff and student interns to maintain an impactful, national organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, astronautical, or mechanical engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics, or a related field
  • 6 years demonstrated experience leading studies and analysis teams, coordinating complex technical tasks, and translating customer needs into viable instructions
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, and analysis, as well as a strong understanding of space mission interdependencies
  • Ability to flex communication styles for productive interactions with staff, collaborators, and customers
  • Current and active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree or extensive work experience in aerospace engineering, operations research, or a related field
  • Experience in multi-int tracking and mission management, understanding of Space C2 processes and relationships
  • Experience with Digital Engineering, AFSIM, distributed simulation frameworks, automated analysis workflows
  • History of navigating collaborations between technical experts across multiple fields
  • Prior management or leadership experience in hiring, mentoring, training, or development of personnel
