Job Overview

Position Title: Mechanic


EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt

WORKING HOURS: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

SUPERVISOR: Account Manager

WORK DAYS: Monday to Friday


Job Summary:

The Mechanic is responsible for executing mechanical repairs on landscaping machinery and performing minor maintenance on vehicles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs, including tune-ups, oil changes, tire and brake inspections, and spark plug replacements.
  • Perform test drives to verify the completion and quality of repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the workshop and ensure tools are returned to their designated places.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment.
  • Inspect tools and machinery to confirm they are functioning correctly.
  • Repair or replace damaged components and sharpen equipment blades as necessary.
  • Keep accurate logs of maintenance and repairs performed on vehicles.
  • Monitor for safety hazards and adhere to safe working practices to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Execute additional related tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of vehicle and landscaping equipment repair.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Competence in using both power and hand tools.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Capability to interpret service and repair manuals.
  • Efficiently complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous relevant experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform necessary repairs and inspections.
  • Capability to work safely in a noisy environment with various odors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
