Tax Supervisor

Marcum LLP is seeking a highly skilled Tax Supervisor to join our growing national firm in Northeast Ohio. As a Tax Supervisor, you will play a key role in providing exceptional tax services to our clients, utilizing your expertise in tax planning, preparation, and advisory services.
Key Responsibilities- Identify tax planning opportunities for clients and prepare complex returns with minimal supervision and errors.
- Review moderately complex returns prepared by others, identifying issues, errors, omissions, and planning opportunities.
- Provide tax advisory services to clients, communicating engagement needs and recognizing extended services opportunities.
- Stay current on professional announcements and proactively participate in professional development opportunities, such as mentoring and training.
- Cultivate effective relationships with clients and staff, presenting on technical topics and exhibiting professional competency.
- Strong communication, research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Proven technical skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as experience with accounting software, ProSystem fx Engagement.
- Solid organization skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- 4+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
- CPA certification or completion of the CPA exam within a year, with knowledge of accounting principles and auditing/tax standards.
Frequent same-day travel for work at client offices, meetings, and seminars using a personal vehicle. Occasional out-of-town travel with overnight stays for work at clients, meetings, or seminars using a personal vehicle. Occasional overtime work required throughout the year, with heavy overtime work required from January to April 15.
