Barista

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Barista to join our team at City Market. As a Barista, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing beverages to recipe and standards, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

• Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and making recommendations to customers.
• Prepare beverages to recipe and standards, using proper equipment and techniques.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to company guidelines and regulations.
• Collaborate with associates to achieve company/store goals and promote teamwork.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of coffee shop specials.
• Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use all equipment in the coffee shop according to company guidelines.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review "sell by" dates.
• Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activity.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Any previous comparable experience.
