The Internal Auditor I position provides critical support to the Quality Improvement department, ensuring regulatory compliance through the monitoring of center documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Center in reducing or eliminating audit paybacks for Medicaid, State, and Private funded services
- Ensure compliance with funding requirements and accreditation standards as they relate to consumer records and documentation
- Process pending billing data on an ongoing basis
- Assist with desk audits as assigned by the Audit Supervisor
- Process and post Policies and Procedures
- Provide backup to the QI department
- Assist with internal and external audits as assigned
- Computer literacy
- Ability to maintain good time management, organizational skills, and attention to details
- Ability to type and enter data accurately
- Good verbal and written communication skills

Must keep up to date on the changing regulations from Medicaid and any other agency, contract, or managed care requirements as necessary
Ability to maintain a good working relationship with the Outpatient Practice Manager and the various clinical and clerical staff involved in the internal audit processes
Decision MakingUtilizes established corporate policies and procedures in making decisions
Uses sound judgment in meeting the responsibilities and performing the duties of the position
Education and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year in a healthcare office setting required
- Experience with compliance auditing and customer relations preferred
- Must be over the age of 21 required
- Minimum of 5 years of driving experience required
- Possess a valid FL Driver's license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess)
- Possess a continuously valid US Driver's license for the past three years, from date of issue required
- Safe driving record required
Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually
Other training and/or professional development may be assigned due to evolution of programs
