Endoscopy Technician

This is a full-time Endoscopy Technician position at UNC Health Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, maintaining the endoscopy suite, and ensuring the proper reprocessing and maintenance of endoscopic equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, including preparing patients, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Maintain the endoscopy suite, including restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and ensuring that all necessary materials are available.
- Reprocess and maintain endoscopic equipment, including endoscopes, automated endoscope reprocessors, and vapor management hoods.
- Document all activities and maintain accurate records, including patient information, procedure details, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or High School diploma or GED.
- Licensed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services or one year of Endoscopy Technician experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- One (1) year of relevant health care experience.
This position is employed by NC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Heath Care System. This is not a State employed position.
