Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for coordinating patient care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. They support professional nursing practice across various settings and the continuum of care to meet patients' needs. The RN will function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be skilled in mentoring and teaching, and may participate in committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as part of their responsibilities. The qualifications include:
- Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
- All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a start date of April 1, 2020, or later must provide documented evidence of completing the baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
- One year of RN experience in the Operating Room is required.
Benefits and Schedule
This full-time role is eligible for benefits, including competitive tuition reimbursement. The schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week, with days off TBD. Call requirements are self-assigned and require a 30-minute return time, with call rooms available through security as needed.
