Job Summary

Catholic Medical Center (CMC) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patients, visitors, medical staff, and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of Hospital buildings, grounds, and parking areas to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Document all activities and incidents in a detailed Security Log.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emergency situations, codes, and Hospital-specific alerts.
  • Assist authorized personnel and physicians in accessing restricted areas as required.
  • Coordinate with specific departments, such as Mom's Place, for sensitive matters.
  • Maintain continuous communication via radio systems and provide courteous escorts upon request.
  • React promptly and professionally to disasters, fires, and other unforeseen emergencies.
  • Ensure confidentiality while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Handle patient valuables, lost and found items, and evidentiary materials with precision and care.
  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
Requirements
  • Preferably a background in security, law enforcement, or military.
  • Strong customer service skills are beneficial.
  • Physical agility to maneuver in various environments and perform diverse tasks.
  • Clear and effective verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in processing information.
  • Resilience to manage heavy workloads or periods of heightened stress.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills and adaptability to system upgrades.
  • Flexibility in working weekends and holidays as required.
  • High School graduate or equivalent. Preferably, post-secondary education.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle history.
  • Successful completion of Basic Security Officer Certification through IAHSS within 6 months of employment and subsequent recertification.
  • Ability to obtain initial and annual certification for issued equipment.
