We are seeking a highly skilled Code Enforcement Officer to join our team at the City of Delano CA. As a key member of our Community Development Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with zoning regulations, Municipal Codes, and related Government Codes.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate complaints and enforce compliance with building codes and regulations
- Conduct field inspections of building sites to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
- Prepare detailed reports on building conditions and violations
- Issue stop-work orders and correction notices as necessary
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to resolve code violations
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or two years of experience in a related field preferred
- Two years of experience in code enforcement, building inspection, or a related field
- Knowledge of Uniform Codes, Municipal Codes, and related Government Codes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
