Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Code Enforcement Officer to join our team at the City of Delano CA. As a key member of our Community Development Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with zoning regulations, Municipal Codes, and related Government Codes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate complaints and enforce compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Conduct field inspections of building sites to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
  • Prepare detailed reports on building conditions and violations
  • Issue stop-work orders and correction notices as necessary
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to resolve code violations
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or two years of experience in a related field preferred
  • Two years of experience in code enforcement, building inspection, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Uniform Codes, Municipal Codes, and related Government Codes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
