Position Overview

The Guest Room Specialist collaborates with the Housekeeping Management Team to maintain cleanliness in guest accommodations and communal areas, adhering to brand standards and protocols to guarantee exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exemplify the principles of Sonesta Service in all guest interactions, following the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
  • Address guest inquiries, special requests, and complaints, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions to achieve total guest satisfaction.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of designated rooms or areas in accordance with established guidelines, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and disposing of waste.
  • Inform the supervisor upon completion of cleaning tasks to facilitate room availability for guests. Report any rooms that cannot be serviced according to set protocols.
  • When tasked with laundry duties, oversee laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are adequate and operational. Operate washers and dryers in line with hotel standards and manufacturer instructions. Inspect soiled linens for damage or stains, and manage the folding and storage of clean linens while reporting any damages to the supervisor.
  • Reduce waste of supplies and amenities across all housekeeping operations.
  • Occasionally assist with intensive cleaning initiatives.
  • Notify the supervisor of necessary repairs or hazardous conditions.
  • Manage lost and found items in accordance with established procedures.
  • Encourage teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations regarding health and safety standards.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
