We are seeking a highly skilled Research Grant/Contract Specialist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the financial status of research grants, analyzing expense reports, and collaborating with external departments to ensure accurate accounting.
Key Responsibilities- Grant Preparation and Management: Assist Principal Investigators in preparing research grant applications, including budget preparation and submission to internal and external agencies.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Analyze expense reports, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with Fund Accounting to resolve issues.
- Grant Administration: Coordinate and monitor accounting and budget systems, ensure compliance with internal and external agency guidelines, and provide regular budget projections to Principal Investigators.
- Human Resources Liaison: Assist with the hiring process, complete paperwork, and answer employee questions regarding HR issues, benefits, and procedures.
- Contract and Agreement Management: Liaise with granting agencies, Principal Investigators, Research Administration, and Fund Accounting to collect information required for subcontracts, consultant agreements, and service agreements.
- Education: College coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, with knowledge of Excel or similar software packages. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three to four years of relevant experience in research grant administration, financial analysis, or a related field.
- Skills: Analytical ability, attention to detail, good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
