Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential health problems.
  • Provide health teaching, health counseling, and supportive care to patients and their families.
  • Execute medical regimens prescribed by licensed physicians or dentists.
  • Work effectively with others and delegate responsibility to allied nursing personnel.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement projects and demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift or assist in lifting a client from bed to chair to standing or vice versa.
  • Must be able to respond quickly and effectively communicate orally in an emergent situation.
  • Must be able to use stairs in an emergent situation.
  • Must be able to walk, carry semi-heavy equipment, and reach overhead.
  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with clients or associates.
