Walgreens is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a patient-centric role. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including reviewing and complying with state, federal, and company policies.
- Process prescriptions, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
- Use pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly.
- Assist in scheduling and maintaining work flow, and report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling cash as required.
- Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist in inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
- May assist pharmacists in administering clinical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately.
- Prefer good computer skills.
- Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
