Cardiac Sonographer

Munising Memorial Hospital Association is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our Radiology team. As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality images of patients' hearts and circulatory systems using advanced ultrasound technology.

• Perform echocardiograms using specialized equipment and techniques to produce clear and comprehensive images of the heart and related structures.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure, explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine the specific requirements of each examination and adapt the procedure accordingly.
• Assess and analyze echocardiographic images to identify abnormalities or anomalies, such as valve disorders, heart defects, and cardiac function issues.
• Maintain detailed records of procedures, patient information, and image documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper calibration.
• Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with evolving technologies and industry best practices.

• Associate degree or higher in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
• Certification as a Registered American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or equivalent credential.
• State licensure or certification as required by applicable regulations.
• Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for the specialty(ies) as appropriate.
• BLS Certification.
• Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting ultrasound equipment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact compassionately with patients and their families.
• Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical and professional standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, adapting to varying patient needs and schedules.
