Job Description

At Insight Global Healthcare, we seek an experienced and skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse to join our team. As a PICU Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill pediatric patients with medical and/or surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance and Quality of Care: Ensure compliance with standard of care and practice in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility and in accordance with Joint Commission guidelines.
  • Nursing Care Planning: Plan appropriate nursing care set forth by the medical treatment facility and in accordance with Joint Commission guidelines.
  • Emergency Response: Have the ability to react to any emergency situation, including cardiac or respiratory arrest, hemorrhage, shock, severe physical trauma, psychiatric reaction, etc.
  • Team Collaboration: Serve as member of resuscitation team and demonstrate effective communication plans, actions, and collaboration with a diverse healthcare team for the benefit of the patient, family, and organization.
  • Patient Preparation and Evaluation: Demonstrate proper preparation of patients for treatments and procedures, to include surgical interventions, and provide proper care and evaluation of post-procedural patients.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Degree/Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing, required.
  • Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS), required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-year experience within the preceding 3-years in pediatric intensive care unit. Will consider applicants with a combined minimum of 2 years neonatal ICU/pediatric ICU experience and ability to pass written PICU competency.
  • Licensure/Registration: Valid license in at least one state territory or commonwealth of the US.

We estimate the salary range for this position to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on the location and industry standards.
