Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Data Architect to lead the development of an enterprise data model that meets our business and technical requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Dataverse, SQL Server, and SSIS, as well as excellent critical thinking skills and a proven track record of solving real-world problems using data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an enterprise data model that standardizes shared data entities and attributes, and standardizes database management systems and tools.
  • Provide analysis and leadership on data analysis projects across the organization.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data architects, and application developers to create an enterprise data model that meets business and technical requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to Microsoft Dataverse, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, and SSIS.
  • Design and deliver data mapping specifications for large reporting platforms.
  • Write and maintain business rules using SQL logic.
  • Develop and maintain ERD/Data Modelling tools.
  • Execute projects in an Agile/Hybrid environment.
  • Challenge legacy design and seek opportunities to design better models and better code.
  • Learn new technologies and adapt to frequent changes in the technical environment.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure Data Factory as an ETL tool.
  • 3+ years of experience with MS Dataverse.
  • 3+ years of experience with MS SSIS.
  • Proven track record of solving real-world problems using data.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technology-related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) with a focus on data analysis and data structure.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and experience collaborating and influencing across all levels of the organization.
  • Understanding of different database platforms: Oracle, SQL Server (OnPrem/Azure), DB2, and MS Access.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and technology illustrations.
  • Understanding of Data Warehousing and data mining.
  • Understanding of modeling strategies (dimensional, snowflake, relational, unstructured).
  • Experience designing and delivering data mapping specifications for large reporting platforms.
  • Writing and maintaining business rules using SQL logic.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing ad-hoc SQL statements.
  • Strong interest in playing a technical data steward role across our business and technology partners to understand and detail our data appropriately.
  • Proven experience with ERD/Data Modelling tools (Toad or others).
  • Experience in executing projects in an Agile/Hybrid environment.
  • Ability to challenge legacy design and seek opportunities to design better models and better code.
  • Demonstrated technical ability in learning new technologies and adapting to frequent changes in the technical environment.
  • Experience with data reporting tools (Power BI, others).
  • Ability to look at data in various formats, organize data for the agency to meet the needs of unique program areas, and enable the programs to effect change.
  • Experience conceptualizing and visualizing data structures before they are drawn.
  • Experience migrating data from various legacy platforms.
